Mixing it with your tea or with boiled water is great for cleansing the body and getting read of toxins. Avoid drinking milk, coffee, and alcohol as they may only worsen the condition. Smoking should be avoided too. If there is nausea, minimize the intake of solid foods and stick to soups and broths. To relieve being nauseous, keep a clove of ginger between the teeth for some time. If there is diarrhea, drink plenty of fluids to hydrate the body. Aside from water, sports drinks can be taken to replace the body’s lost electrolytes as well. Furthermore, eating a banana, which is rich in potassium, can also help treat food poisoning as the potassium count in the body decreases significantly during this state. In addition, instead of taking pain killers when the stomach is in pain, just put hot water bottles on your belly for relief. Drinking water with powdered cumin and fenugreek seeds can also help relieve abdominal pain. When the condition subsides, take some time before going on a heavy diet and stay away from spicy and fried food.
